DoD MASK POLICY GUIDELINES

In accordance with DoD Mask Guidelines, everyone, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask indoors across the installation. 

When outdoors, vaccinated individuals may choose to not wear a mask. Non-vaccinated individuals must continue to wear a mask while on the installation in outdoor situations.

DEPENDENT/RETIREE ID CARDS

Dependent and retiree ID cards can be renewed using the blue kiosk inside the BX or at the Welcome Center or by appointment only. 

No walk-ins at this time.

Only sponsors with CACs can submit DD FORM 1172-2 to the DEERS online portal ahead of time. All others should download the 1172-2 and sign in front of a notary before scanning into the kiosk. The UPS store inside the BX offers notary services for a nominal fee. 


Bring two (2) forms of ID (one must include a photo).


VERY LITTLE WAIT TIME. ID CARD WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP IN 14 BUSINESS DAYS OR LESS.

WALK-IN PROCEDURES

  1. The virtual line begins at 6:30am. You can join the line from anywhere - no need to be at the ID card office to join the line virtually. CLICK HERE to join the virtual queue.
  2. Walk-in hours are 7:30am until 11am or until walk-in capacity is reached.
  3. Once you have joined the virtual line and received a text message, you do not have to arrive to the facility until you receive a text message instructing you to return to the lobby.
  4. CAC users are given priority (active duty in uniform, CAC resets, new issue, expiring within 7 days, etc)
  5. If you are not a CAC holder (dependent, retiree, 100% DAV, etc.), you will be served in the order of when you joined the queue. Due to the high volume of customers, our wait time can be up to 6 hours. Feel free to visit the BX, grab a coffee at Rickenbacker's across the street inside the MacDill Inn or visit other locations in the immediate area of base while waiting.
  6. To ensure smooth processing, please make sure you have all the required documentation to get your ID card. (**PLEASE NOTE**Images of the documents on your phone or tablet are not acceptable. We must have a hard copy of the document.)
  7. If you are a dependent or retiree needing a renewal of your ID card, you can always use the self-serve kiosks located at the Dale Mabry Gate Welcome Center or inside the BX across from the food court. 

DEERS UPDATE - 04 JUNE 2021

Retiree, Dependent, DEERS Updates:

  • In accordance with current ID card policy all expired USIDs that expired on or after Jan 1, 2020 will be extended under the below categories and dates:
    • FOREIGN AFFILIATES & THEIR DEPENDENTS: 31 AUG 21
    • DEPENDENTS OF ACTIVE DUTY & RESERVE NATIONAL GUARD SERVICE MEMBERS & DEPENDENTS: 31 OCT 21
    • RETIREES & THEIR DEPENDENTS: 31 JAN 22
  • TRICARE will accept claims regardless of the expiration date on the card. TRICARE coverage periods are based upon the date of separation in DEERS, which means a lapse in coverage should not occur.
  • The Military Personnel Flight will provide an updated memo for members with expired cards to keep with them, to assist in communicating this policy exception to health care providers, commissary, etc.

NECESSARY DOCUMENTS

To ensure you have the necessary documents, please download the

Members must bring 2 Unexpired Forms of Identification (At least 1 must have a photo: Drivers License, Passport, Military ID) Another form of ID can be: Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Voter’s Registration Card, etc.).

For any DEERS record updates: Members must bring hard copy supporting documentation (such as: divorce decree, marriage license, Medicare Plan B card, college enrollment form (showing student is a full time student), etc.) ** if previous marriage was never terminated a Divorce decree/Death Certificate must be provided before we can update new marriage!

100% Disabled American Veteran (DAV): Members must bring proof of IDs, DD Form 214 (if initial issue), and letter from VA/ebenefits stating that they are authorized commissary and exchange privileges.

Dependents not accompanied by Sponsors: must have a DD Form 1172-2 signed by sponsor and notarized within the past 90 days, or a current Power of Attorney, Death Certificate, etc.

LOST OR STOLEN CARDS

Please provide the following if your ID card is lost, stolen or confiscated.

  • Police Report
  • Report From an Installation Security Office
  • Statement/Document(s) as Provided by the Service/Agency (e.g., Counseling Document)
  • Letter or memo from the member's security manager, Commander, First Sergeant, or the sponsoring TASS Trusted Agent. The letter or memo must be prepared on the activity's letterhead, dated and signed with a wet signature or digitally signed using a CAC.

RENEW YOUR DEPENDENT OR RETIREE ID WITH OUR 2 CONVENIENT KIOSKS!

Bring with you 2 forms of ID, follow the questions on the screen, scan your documents, take a photo and hit submit.

Your request will be sent to the ID Card office on MacDill AFB for renewal. You will be able to pickup your ID card within 14 business days.
