DoD MASK POLICY GUIDELINES

In accordance with DoD Mask Guidelines, everyone, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask indoors across the installation. 

When outdoors, vaccinated individuals may choose to not wear a mask. Non-vaccinated individuals must continue to wear a mask while on the installation in outdoor situations.

24/7 ACCESS

24/7 ACCESS to the Fitness Center is currently not available. 

Fitness center hours will be expanded to the following:

MONDAY - FRIDAY: 5AM - 11PM

WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS: 6AM - 4PM

FITNESS CENTER MASKS

Masks must be worn when entering the fitness center. Masks may be removed while performing fitness activities.

Big Dawg Relay

Teams of 4 will compete in a circuit event challenge against other teams for 1st place and bragging rights to be the Big Dawg of MacDill. Events include: Run, Toss, Jump and Throw. Pre-registration is recommended. 6fss.fsvs.fitnessprograms@us.af.mil

5v5 Basketball Tournament

Tournament starts at 5pm on Friday, September 17 and runs through the weekend. On Sunday the 19th the event ends with a 3 point shootout. Register your team of 5 or join a team by contacting the fitness center at:  6fss.fsvs.fitnessprograms@us.af.mil

FIT N' PLAY CHILD AREA

The Fit N' Play child area is designed for parents with children ages 6 and younger to utilize the fitness center with their child(ren) present. 

  • Parents/Legal Guardians are responsible for the direct supervision of their child(ren) while in the Fit N' Play area.
  • Children 6 years and under may use the Fit N' Play area.
  • Infants are allowed in strollers next to their parent while in the Fit N' Play area. We encourage parents to place their infant in the play area when no other children are present.
  • Sick children are not allowed in the Fit N' Play area. 
  • No outside food. 
  • Toys and play materials may be brought in by the parent/guardian. Please take all belongings with you when you leave the area.
  • Children must be fully dressed to include shoes in the Fit N' Play area.
  • Parents/Guardians of unruly children will be asked to leave the facility.
  • Parents/Guardians must clean and organize the family room before leaving. 
  • Patrons with children have priority over all others within the Fit N' Play area.

WHAT IS YOUR FITNESS LEVEL?

Fitness assessments will tell you just that. See where your fitness level is for body composition, cardiovascular endurance, muscle endurance, and flexibility. You will also receive information on how to improve your trouble areas. Check your improvements after 2-3 months.

To request a fitness assessment download the PAR-Q FORM and fill out the info. Bring it to the front desk for your assessment.

ABOUT US

Fitness is the name of the game and our Fitness Center is definitely a winner in this category. We provide optimum opportunities for participation in all levels of competition for military, DoD civilians, retirees and family members.
Offered year-round is an active and diversified program that strives to meet the mental & physical needs of all participants. Those associated with the military, whether active duty, retired, family members, DoD or contract employees, all take advantage of the recreational activities available at MacDill's Fitness Center.
The ¼ mile track and 4-mile jogging path are big hits with runners, joggers & walkers. Active duty personnel can also volunteer to represent their organizations or units on the Base Athletic Advisory Council.
Personal Trainers are available by appointment only. They will evaluate your personal health history and design an individualized training program, to include instruction on weight loss, strength training and proper conditioning.
