The cardboard boat regatta is an event like no other! While it promotes team-building and developing unity across our multi-service community – it is also a great opportunity to get out of the office and have some fun!

Winners awarded in 5 categories:

  • 1st Place
  • 2nd Place
  • 3rd Place
  • Most Dramatic Sinking
  • Best Design

1st place will receive a $500 FSS gift card and personalized paddle.

Regatta Event Schedule

Anyone can come out and watch the teams build and race their boats in the bay. Cheer on your unit or favorite squadron and check out our sponsor booths while you are there!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

8:00 – 8:30 AM: Team Check-in on MacDill near the marina parking lot

8:30 – 9:00 AM: Review Rules of Engagement

9:00 AM – NOON: Teams design and build their boats

NOON – 1:00 PM: Inspection of boats and best design judging

1:00 – 2:00 PM: Boats race each other in the bay

2:00 – 2:30 PM: Review of times and sponsor drawings

2:30 – 3:00 PM: Awards Presentation. 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place, Best Design, Most Dramatic Sinking
